Pastor Daniel C. Zike

Pastor Dan Zike was born on May 18, 1979 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and at the age of 5, moved to  Portland, Oregon.  He was raised in a pastor's home and knows what it is like to be in the ministry and to live the ministry.

He was saved at the age of 15 and called to the ministry during a Bible Conference shortly after.  He served as Associate Pastor of Town Center Baptist Church for six years, serving as interim Pastor for eight months.

He was home schooled during his Jr. High and High School years, has sat under a number of pastors who have taught him music and preaching, has attended many years of Bible Institute in his local church, and is in his third year at Covington Theological Seminary.

In May of 2005 Pastor Dan Zike was ordained by pastors of local churches during our Spring Bible Conference.

Pastor Dan Zike believes very strongly that being a Pastor is not just a vocation, but a calling by God, and that God has indeed called him to the ministry and to start this church, Old Paths Bible, in the Tualatin area.

His Family

Pastor Zike met his wife, Heather, in September of 2002.  They were married September 13, 2003.  Heather grew up in Somerset, Pennsylvania.  She was saved at the age of 16 and surrendered her life to be in the ministry when she was 18.

They are the parents of two children:  Rachel, born August 3, 2006, and Noah, born May 6, 2008.  Each child is a gift from God and has been dedicated back to the Lord.

Psalm 46:10 is the Zike family's verse, "Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."  This is the verse God gave them while Heather was pregnant with Noah.  At 19 weeks the doctors discovered he had a C-CAM (mass) on his right lung.  By 23 weeks the mass doubled its size and shifted his heart to the right, causing him to fill up with hy-drops.  The doctors told them there was no hope and the baby would pass away by 25 weeks.  Nine weeks later, Noah was delievered at Emanuel Hospital in critical condition.  The Lord allowed the doctors to intibate immediately and get him stabalized.  Two days after birth, the mass was removed.  Miraculously, the mass (the size of three ping pong balls) only affected the middle chamber of his right lung.  Once removed, his heart shifted back in place and the left lung popped opened.  They doctors were amazed and call him the miracle baby.   They give God all the glory for Noah and his life!  Their prayer is that the Lord will continue to use Noah's life as a living testimony of the goodness and power of God.
